Valentino Rossi said that the first six races in 2014 will help him decide whether to give up at the end of the season. Seven-time winner of the title in the premier class returns to Yamaha having spent two unsuccessful seasons in Ducati , but was defeated by his teammate Jorge Lorenzo. Rossi resort to it to fire longtime chief of his staff , Jerry Burgess and decided to set a deadline for when it will decide on its future.

"It will be a difficult decision . Dont know if changing my head engineer will lead to a good result , but I hope to achieve progress. 'd Like to continue to compete , but only if I am competitive. Lorenzo is very good to work with tires . It hardly makes mistakes . I've always preferred the hard tires, but they are gone and now we have to adapt to soft that gives me problems , "said Rossi.
